How We Report and Source

Last updated August 2026

The Living Cities investigates how architecture is evolving toward more adaptive, responsive and regenerative systems. This page describes the standards we hold ourselves to while doing that.

Sourcing Standards

We prioritize peer-reviewed research, university and institutional sources, and original project documentation over secondary commentary, and we trace claims back to their original source wherever possible rather than relying on another outlet's interpretation of a paper or project we can read ourselves.

Technology Maturity

Emerging technology is classified honestly — established, emerging, experimental, or speculative — and we do not present laboratory or prototype-stage work as commercially available.

Independence

Editorial coverage is not for sale. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage of a project, product or company.
